The boat

For a long time, we where dead set that we were off course going on our long-distance sailing trip in a keelboat, when we all of the sudden were completely swept away by a catamaran. Now the dream of a much more spacious sailing experience became a vision of ours. In addition to a great utilization of space, which, among other things, means more privacy for us and our crew (deckhands), the catamaran holds a great deal of other significant advantages. Especially the minimal heeling of the boat is valuable, thus it, in many cases, helps the crew maintaining normal everyday activities, such as cooking and cleaning, during sailing. Additionally, a low level of heeling can lessen seasickness on board and the insecurity inexperienced crewmembers can feel on board (though we can never promise to steer completely clear of bad weather and waves). Also catamarans in general go a bit faster than normal keelboats and have comfort and mobility of having two engines and rudders. This combined with a low draught; we can get into ports and close 14324629_1055860341198114_3385337549924108327_oto reefs other boats cannot. Finally, the open rear with two opportunities to get both on board and descent the boat, as well as the spacious cockpit, creates a wonderful starting point for all of our diving activities. All in all, a unique long-distance solution – we believe. Watch a short video of our boat here.
