Open Water

Open Water is the beginner’s course which gives you the necessary skills required to be able to navigate safely and securely underwater down to a maximum depth of 18 m.

The course consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is done with e-learning.

The e-learning is a kind of online course which takes you safely through all the theory and all the tests along the way. Since it is online, it is something you have to complete before embarking the boat. However, it also means that you can get all the theory done before you arrive at the boat, so you’re ready to jump in the water more or less immediately. So you don’t have to sit and sweat over the theory while the others enjoy themselves.

The practical part of the training consists of various basic exercises, which are usually done in swimming pool conditions. For this purpose, we find a small warm lagoon where we can do the exercises. Once that part is completed, you have 4 ‘open water’ dives before you can be certified as an Open Water Diver.
